Social media monitoring made big news recently when Salesforce acquired Radian6. Nowadays, more digital maketers are aware of the myriad options available to them for monitoring the brands that they represent.
Some great tools to try for measuring overall social media strength
All social media listening systems promise to measure, inform, and execute. But the problem is that there is too much noise. Are you really getting good intelligence? The panelists remind us that it takes human efforts to parse-out the value. A machine isn't going to do it all.
Therefore, you must use the right tool for the job. And it's possible that you'll have to bite the bullet and buy more than one in order to cover all of your needs.

One of the presenters, TouchStorm, creates digital video for brands. They had an excellent suggestion for how to create content that people want. The challenge was figuring out how to reach consumers at the top of the purchase funnel because, for most brands, paid ads work great at the bottom of the sales funnel. The solution? Mine Google keywords for common searches. For a recent campaign for Sony, TouchStorm came up with the following common questions:
